FILMAT NARRATIV DOKUMENTARË

The victims of the last war in Kosovo have yet to find redress in political, economic or social terms. They stand in total chaos and deserve more dignity considering their sufferings during the war. They currently are viewed as a marginalized part of society. Due to the current situation, the victims feel alone, forgotten and without respect to their fate. At the same time, the victims are noncooperative in the processes of democratization and reconciliation.

Project “People and Memories Talk” aims to comfortably construct a general social understanding and importance of documentation of individual and collective war stories, contribution to historiography through individual stories, respond to victim’s needs, understand and empathize with people which physically or materially victimized and raise awareness among society and institutional representatives to enable efforts to find missing persons and bring to justice perpetrators who of crimes.

Of all popular media, television illustrates the power of mass communication to inform, educate and influence the public. Documentary films have grown in popularity and impact, affecting social and political change, as well as introducing audiences to campaigns, ideas and individuals. Since dealing with the past and transitional justice is such a sensitive process to post-war societies, Integra aims to use media, visual documentation and creative approaches to collect true memories of victims of the latest war and post war in Kosovo 1997-2003.

Also, through the project Narrative Documentary Films “People and Memories Talk” Integra intents to use visual documentation, chronological and constructive storytelling, and web platforms to collect true memories of victims in order to provide a lasting resource for human rights activists, advocacy and watchdog groups, policy makers, researchers, and content creators.

Integra has managed to produce a considerable number (59) of Narrative Documentary Films (production continues) with stories of Kosovo victims from different ethnicities. The broadcasting of Narrative Documentary Films “People and Memories Talk” started on October 29th 2012 in KTV (Koha Vision – national TV in Kosovo), and from this date this media product is broadcast every Monday, at 22:20h.
